SOMNI
2021 Pondicherry, India / Interactive installation
A pop-up exhibition, showcasing interactive media art installations
project overview
Under āyāhi, an experiential art collective I co-founded, we curated an exhibition of a series of interactive installations – SOMNI. The purpose of SOMNI was twofold:
First, to bring to the public an experience that integrated art, design and technology. Since the form of new media art was still very nascent in India, this exhibition was the first time that most visitors were exposed to such a medium.
Secondly, to understand how the general public connected to this art form. More precisely, what does new media art mean to the Indian public.
We took this opportunity to provide a variety of mediums and interactions through a plethora of experiences, and interact with the audience to get their feedback and response.
